Brian graduated from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (then the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama) in 2001. Since then he has worked extensively as an actor with many of the UK’s leading theatres; including The Royal Court, The Almeida, The National Theatre of Scotland, The National Theatre of Great Britain, The Citizens Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company. He has also worked extensively in television and film in the UK and abroad.
In recent years, alongside his acting career, teaching has become a central aspect of Brian’s practice. In addition to his role as course leader on the Rose Bruford Foundation course, he is currently a teaching artist on the MA in Classical & Contemporary Text at The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. This balance of teaching and acting ensures Brian is continually developing in both areas; bringing knowledge from the industry into his teaching whilst being challenged and informed through his work with students.
